CANADA'S LOW CARBON CORRIDOR
The Canadian Vitality Pathway (CVP) is an industry agnostic, non-partisan, non-government proposal to create a ribbon of low carbon corridors for future trade and conveyance.
MISSION
To create a ribbon of rights-of-way for transportation of lower-carbon energy, products, people and information, across Canada - leading to prosperity for all communities and regions.
VISION
To establish commercially viable and efficient trade pathways that meet the challenges of decarbonization and accelerate opportunities for Canada to be globally competitive well into the 22nd century.
VALUES
Providing a safe and trusted platform for multiple interest holders - governments of all levels, industry, Indigenous Nations, and other essential organizations - to collaborate and negotiate the infrastructure of tomorrow to yield a more cohesive, decarbonized and economically healthy Canada.

What We Do
1
ENVISAGE
We've envisaged commercial connections between trade centres that are needed today and for generations into a zero-emissions future
CVP is a platform approach, enabling a corridor for the simultaneous trade of multiple products, thereby broadening the benefits
2
CATALYZE
We catalyze opportunities that depend on these commercial connections - opportunities that fortify Canada's capacity to cost effectively decarbonize, while preserving growth opportunities

Examples:

H2 production and distribution

Electricity shaping
3
COLLABORATE
We encourage strategic collaboration between multiple companies and interested stakeholders to bring these opportunities to fruition
With a focus on balance sheets, strategic collaboration on innovation and market development is the best way to enable future opportunity
4
ESTABLISH
We establish rights of way that respect Indigenous rights and directly involve Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians in prosperity

Through a sustainable model, we are more than an advocacy or consulting organization. We seek to manage the pathways in accordance to the pre-approved expectations of all parties

A framework to build market opportunities together
Now, more than ever before, Canadians in all regions expect to benefit from opportunities and trade that takes place in and around the communities they love. When looking at new opportunity, we must therefore be visionaries as to how all can benefit. This means combining opportunities for two-way trade. Let’s inspire all Canadians with a pan-Canadian vision for trade and enhance our multi-use domestic transportation network from coast to coast to coast.

DEVELOP

Enabling lowest cost investments in decarbonization
We support these coalitions through to commercialization of the enabled opportunities
Let’s prepare for and enable accelerated low-carbon electrification in transportation and other sectors. Canada’s biggest opportunities for decarbonization are the electrification and/or hydrogen replacement of transport fuels and building heat. The CVP would provide the opportunity to develop a pan-Canadian electrical backbone that connects high-value, low-cost renewable resources to domestic and export markets.

Reducing regulatory risks, costs and burdens for all parties
Interprovincial trade barriers continue to cost the Canadian economy between $50 and $130 billion every year. The CVP would encourage the lowering of interprovincial/territory trade barriers and basis differentials, thereby lowering overall costs to the economy.
4
DEVELOP
Creating the opportunity to re-imagine transportation

We support these coalitions through to commercialization of the enabled opportunities
In addition to shaping renewables through our vast hydro resources, transporting hydrogen to key demand centres would enable the future decarbonization of heavy freight, ships, and airplanes. Designed with the future in focus, the CVP could also serve as a pathway for high-speed rail links between large population centres.

Building a Canada-wide coalition
A framework to involve First Nations and other key communities up-front in the planning of this pathway. The CVP is an opportunity for Indigenous participation in the development of all energy and transport streams.
